The Inverted Cuckoo cares for the young
Of almost every other one
But when its own young call for care
The Inverted Cuckoo is nowhere
Search for its young upon the ground
Beneath the nest is where they're found
It waits no time, no time at all
To kick them out and watch them fall
Lamenting hypocritic'ly
'All my chicks abandon me'
On hearing this the other birds
Putting faith in lying words
Take the chicks that they love best
To play within the Cuckoo's nest
Almost every human trait
Is found in nature, no but wait
There's never been a bird who
Is like the Inverted Cuckoo
This simple fact should make us wonder
When one is found among our number
