The clan of Preston’s unwed son
Decided something must be done
But how could the poor boy gain
The favour of his sweet Elaine
Set on matrimony
Beset by the anguish of the lonely
To be noticed by Elaine
Was his obsession and his aim
Sure enough Elaine was wowed
To find in any random crowd
Of four or five or six or seven
There he was again, that Kevin
She grew accustomed to the sight
And soon she thought he was just right
Not long passed e’er they were wed
And found themselves contented
Turning to today at last
Now 25 grand years have passed
We see they have not had their fill
For they are contented still
Though mountains rise and kingdoms fall
Assuredly throughout it all
They shall not have loved in vain
Kevin and Elaine
